A Big Lesson Learned From A Tiny Ward In Switzerland

How An Accidental Find, Turned Into A Life-Changing Experience. When I was 16, I had the great opportunity to visit some Family Friends in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. This was the greatest adventure I had ever been on. I fell in love with everything. I mean, literally everything; the food, the country, the people, the language, the clothes, and even the smells. It seemed as though the world was simply more perfect there. We were staying in the apartment of our friend, Geraldine-a very beautiful, red-headed, and accomplished returned missionary. She showed us all around the beautiful city, and took us...

12 Funny Memes That Show What Scouts Is Really Like

It seems like no matter who you are, you know of-or have been a part of-a hilarious story that happened in Scouts. I myself never being in the Scouting program got all my entire perspective from a Father that was a Scoutmaster for majority of my childhood. But I did take some time to find the perspective of strangers on the topic: From a girl’s perspective: “The only difference between Scout Camp and Girl’s Camp, is that the leaders are as nuts as the Scouts.” From a boy’s perspective: “What happens at Scout Camp, stays at Scout Camp… That is, until...

Dear Youth

There are times in everyone’s life where things seem like they aren’t going your way, I would know since after all I am a youth that is currently struggling emotionally. Pay attention to this specific statement. Life, is not meant to be easy. The reason we are on the Earth as mortals is to learn and to grow. We must take all that we’ve learned from trials, and hardships, and use them to help us in life. Our Father in Heaven placed us here to test us. We are to endure till the end. We must not give up, it might seem like the best choice, but it isn’t. There is a scripture in the Old Testament (it’s a scripture mastery so I’ll let you figure out what book it’s in, and what verse it is 😉 ) the scripture says: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not into thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Do not doubt the Lord. He will be your shoulder to cry on in a time of need. He loves us and wants to see us happy. Acknowledge the Lord, he will guide you and lead you down the right path. I truly believe this with all my heart. I write these things in the name of Jesus Christ, the son...

In Response to Kate Kelly

For people of faith, our religious beliefs constitute a fundamental part of who we are. They shape how we view the world, how we respond to challenges, and they give us a framework to base our lives on. People going through a faith crisis or losing their faith altogether often feel lost, disconnected from a culture and an institution they once called home, and unsure of how to orient themselves without the beliefs that were such an important part of their identity. For these reasons, I have consistently sought understanding between those who leave their faith (or those who...

5 Things You Should Or Shouldn’t Do At Dances

1: Ask people to dance. Youth at Stake or Regional Dances shouldn’t just go to eat cookies. (Although they are pretty delicious 🙂 ) Youth should go and make friends at these dances. Odds are you won’t make that many friends just sitting at the dessert table eating all the cookies. (You will probably make more enemies because we all love cookies.) Girls, ask guys to dance. Trust me, we appreciate being asked to dance by all you beautiful daughters of God. Guys, same goes for you! Don’t sit there and stare at all the girls who would love to...
