16 Faith Strengthening Quotes From
The Prophets & Apostles

Faith is the basic building block of our spiritual life, a strong faith in Jesus Christ is vital to our survival as disciples of Jesus Christ. The first step to a strong faith in Jesus Christ is “planting” the seed of faith. (Alama 32:36) Many of us grew up sing the song “Faith” which contains this line.

“Faith is like a little seed: If planted, it will grow.”
~Beatrice Goff Jackson

When I was a missionary serving in New England, our goal was to help others plant the seed of faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement. Our meetings would often focus on strengthening our faith so that we could help others plant their seed of faith. When it comes to faith in Jesus Christ the Prophet and Apostles are especial witnesses to Jesus Christ, so I started searching for quotes on Faith. Here are the some of my favorite quotes I’ve found from the Prophets & Apostles.

  • Faith will let people repent.

Let people repent. Let people grow. Believe that people can change and improve. Is that faith? Yes! Is that hope? Yes! Is that charity? Yes! Above all, it is charity, the pure love of Christ. If something is buried in the past, leave it buried.
~Elder Jeffery R.  Holland

  • Faith can bring hope.

Be of good cheer. The future is as bright as your faith.
~President Thomas S. Monson

  • Faith in the Savior.

Faith in the Savior taught me that no matter what happened in the past, my story could have a happy ending.
~President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

  • How we increase in Faith.

How we live our lives increases or diminishes our faith. Prayer, obedience, honesty, purity of thought and deed, and unselfishness increase faith. Without these, faith diminishes.
~Elder Neil L. Andersen

  • Focused Faith.

True faith is focused in and on the Lord Jesus Christ and always leads to righteous action. The Prophet Joseph Smith taught that “faith [is] the first principle in revealed religion, and the foundation of all righteousness” and that it is also “the principle of action in all intelligent beings””
~Elder David A Bednar
