The Avenger’s Speak in Sacrament, Hear What They Have to Say

[wp_ad_camp_3]

We were fortunate enough to be visiting our in-law’s ward when we notice that the speakers slated to speak in Sacrament meeting were none other than the Avengers.  We decided that we would take notes and share with all of you some of the highlights of what they had to say.

Thor
Thor QuotesThor began his talk by recanting a war story he had with Loki.  One day as they were fighting Thanos, Thanos threw a spear shaped meteoroid right into Thor’s chest.  Loki later asked Thor how he survived the meteoroid piercing his armor to which Thor pulled out a Book of Mormon and shouted “Nothing, and I mean nothing, gets through Second Nephi!”

Iron Man

As Brother Stark came up to the pulpit he told the congregation how he had received a phone call last week from iron manBrother Hansen, the 1st councilor in the bishopric and thought to himself “Oh no! He’s going to ask me to give a talk!”

Tony shared a conversation he once had with Loki and related it to how we as Latter Day-Saints are having a very similar  conversation with Satan as he is constantly trying to defeat us.

Tony: The Mormons. That’s what we call ourselves; we’re sort of like a team. “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” type thing.

Satan: Yes, I’ve met them.

Tony: Yeah, takes us a while to get any traction, I’ll give you that one. But let’s do a head count here: your brother the Son of God; a prophet, a living legend who kind of lives up to the legend; 12 master Apostles, and YOU, big fella, you’ve managed to tick off every single one of them.

Satan: That was the plan.

Tony: Not a great plan. When they come, and they WILL, they’ll come for you.

Satan: I have an army.

Tony: We have 80,000 missionaries.

Hulk

Hulk started his talk “Hello Brothers and Sisters.  Today I have been asked to speak about patience and being slow to anger” to which the congregation had a good chuckle. This apparently made Dr. Banner fairly upset and he ended his talk with quote:

Captain America

Captain definitely had the quote of the night and captured the attention of the congregation as he gave a powerful talk about choosing the right and letting the consequence follow.

  1. A little bit presumptuous of Capt. America, no? Or, have I heard it wrong that there are more mormons outside of American than in america nowadays?

    1. If all you got out of that quote was that Cap is American, I think you need to read it again.
Standing up for what is right regardless of what the rest of the world thinks is a universal ideal. That Cap happens to be in the country and speaking to Americans does not in anyway suggest that his message doesn’t apply to other nations.
